Featuring improv game workshops, outrageous performance pieces, and visual art creation activities allowing audience members to let their creative imaginations run wild.
Audience-generated art and text created during the day will result in the evening’s Great Performance in which audience members are invited to participate (gently encouraged, but not at all required).
Amnesia Wars has created a proven framework for developing a fun, creative performance piece, including performers of all disciplines and levels, in just one day!

The Core Team also gets advance, advanced Avant Prov training in order to lead the Performing Volunteers who participate on the day(s) of the event.

Avant Prov builds a common improvisational vocabulary between music and sound, dance and movement, and theatrical/comedic improvisation, acting, and text. The style encourages us to play in genres outside our expertise , even if we (incorrectly) believe we have no expertise.

There’s no event more immersive than training audience volunteers to perform in a show in front of an audience of their peers.
An avant prov performance resembles a performance art installation, a modern music-dance concert, an improvisational comedy spectacle, and a Monty Python fever-dream, all wrapped up into one!
An avant prov event is centered on the joy of performance, connection, and communication. The audience can feel the excitement when, for example, a comedic improviser finds herself in synch with dancers for the first time.

Director Rob Reese brings this decades of experience as a Director, Writer, and Producer to each Avant Prov event, but their success also relies on his long history as a Production Manager, Designer, and Theatrical Technician. Avant Prov utilizes available technical and design elements to amazing effect.
